Witness one of Maui's phenomenal sunrises from the top of Haleakala, then just when you think it can't get any sweeter, embark on a leisurely 28 mile downhill bike ride.

On your descent, you'll see close-up scenic wonders that people in cars rarely notice.

Bike It Maui does a great job in providing a family-style tour with little extras like a stop at a protea flower farm and a full breakfast after the ride at Charley's in Pa'ia.

Hi Petra! Thank you sooo much for giving me a chance to experience your trip yesterday. Below is a copy of the review I sent out to all the Expedia agents on Maui...I thought you'd like to read through it as well. Thank Kim and Kevin for me as well...they took great care of us!

Review:

Hey gang...I don't usually write up reviews, but I had such a good experience with Bike It Maui, I just had to pass it on! I had never been to see the sunrise on Haleakala, so that in itself was a perk, but the entire activity was so well executed, your guests will find it an absolute treat!

The round-trip transportation is key...getting picked up at 3am is so much nicer than driving it on your own, and the guides made sure to stop for restroom breaks and snacks on the way up. We got up Haleakala in time for them to tell us where the best places were to view the sunrise and get our coats on that they kindly provided (and gloves!), and then after sunrise we continued on up to the summit, so everyone could take a picture and see the view from the very top. We then drove down to 6500 feet where they geared us up and got us on our bikes. The ride down was amazing. It's paced really well with a couple stops along the way, but what a view! To see upcountry and look across to the west Maui mountains and down to the central valley all the while smelling the eucalyptus was just fabulous. We rode all the way down to Pa'ia (with the exception of loading up to drive through Makawao for safety's sake), and then had a FULL, hot breakfast at Charley's.It's all included, tips for the waitress even, and what a difference that nice breakfast makes versus a continental breakfast!

The biggest thing for me (other than the obvious biking down a volcano!) were the two guides. Kim and Kevin were fantastic and made the trip. They were entertaining, knowledgeable, yet very serious about everyone's safety. They made sure that no one felt bad about getting in the van if they weren't having fun riding the bikes, they did a great job of communicating with the group, and a big thing for me....they ENJOY their job. We were never rushed to keep to a schedule, I never felt like they took short-cuts or cheated anyone of time for pictures or the chance to see the proteas at the Sunrise Market, it was just a really fun day hanging out with the local guides all the while zooming down Haleakala.

I highly recommend this trip...as long as people are comfortable on a bike, they'll love it! I think it's great to support a family-owned company with employees that are NICE to our guests, and your guests get that nice, hot breakfast instead of muffins. :o) Get out there and try it...you'll see for yourself the thrill of biking Haleakala!

Hello Petra and most especially Aaron and Mike,

We just returned to the mainland and are still talking about the amazing morning we had with BikeItMaui and Aaron and Mike.
Coming from Boston and having no clue about what to expect about a volcano summit let alone riding down from it - the members of our group - all 8 of us, were very excited. Not only did we learn SO much about your beautiful island (loved learning about customs and legends) and the Hawaiian culture as a whole, the entire bike trip was visually breathtaking. Peppered with many funny comments and excellent rest stops along the way, we all just had a blast. Aaron and Mike are amazing team - we all felt so fortunate to have been in their care and under their watch for the day.

An additional shout out thank you to Aaron for making up a road map in order to plot our trip along the Road to Hana - we followed it to a T and it was magnificent - we did stop to get banana bread at the little farm stand past the black sand beach - delicious.

Thanks for making this just an unreal excursion. If we ever make it back to Maui, we will do it again - and until then we have told everyone we know to use Bike it Maui when visiting your beautiful island.

All the best from Boston - and Mahalo,
Audrey Swennes

My wife and I went on your Haleakala sunrise bike tour this morning. We wanted to write to you especially since the weather did not permit us to see the sunrise, which obviously can happen. And most of the reviews we read talked to the sunrise and the staff. Even without the sunrise we would still recommend the trip. On the bike ride down we saw double rainbows and it was amazing. Hanna and Aaron did a great job guiding this trip! They were professional, humorous, thoughtful and obviously know their stuff. My wife was a bit apprehensive and they presented the trip honestly yet made her feel confident. AND thank you for all the gear you provide. It was a misty, rainy morning and we stayed dry as a result of that gear. Thanks for a fantastic experience.

Petra,

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you what a fabulous job Rodney and Mike did today during our tour. I was so impressed with their attention to our safety and at the same time ensuring that we had a great time. They were both so knowledgeable about the geology, the plant life, the history, and so much more. They both encouraged our questions and genuinely seemed to enjoy sharing their knowledge with us. After the trip up, I decided not to ride down on the bike. Rodney was a delight during the trip down making me feel that I wasn’t missing a thing by riding in the van. All in all it was a great morning and I attribute that to both Rodney and Mike.

Mahalo for employing such great guys!

Petra,

My wife and I wanted to make sure you knew about our experience today with Bike It Maui. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Beyond the sheer magic of the sunrise over the volcano and the exhilarating bike ride, it was the work of Hanale and Mark that will stand out as the most memorable. Hanale was insightful, knowledgeable, exuded the Aloha spirit and is an ambassador for your business and the island of Maui. Mark was full of spirit, humour and possessed no end of historical facts. He kept us safe and in line without taking all the fun out of things (his matter-of-fact description of park rangers and attorneys, the latter of which I am one but take no offense whatsoever). Along with your personal touch with handling the reservations and scheduling, what your company did for our vacation will undoubtedly go down as the best thing we did on our first trip to Hawaii and Maui (we still have 3 days to go!). Please extend our heartfelt thanks to Mark and Hanale for the wonderful time. Please also feel free to share this commentary as you see fit.

Mahalo!

Just wanted you to know that my wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience on the bike tour down the mountain today. Both Ron the driver and Marc the tour guide were extremely helpful.entertaining, and went out of their way to make sure everyone enjoyed the experience. As a native Hawaiian Ron was a tremendous ambassador for the state of Hawaii. He seems to really live and share the Hawaiian life. Please extend then our sincere thanks.

Couldn't find where to leave review so I'm emailing you because I just wanted to let you know...... We arrived late Sunday and received the call to be ready at 240am. At 240 exact, our driver, Hana---okay, don't know how to spell the rest of his name so you fill in 😜-- picked us up with a smile on his face. He was very informative and so friendly. We picked up our guide, Mike, who just added to our amazing journey. And we thought the sunrise was amazing and nothing could be better... But We were wrong! Thrilling, exciting, beautiful, spectacular, safe, felt taken care of, the bike ride is what I cannot describe with enough adjectives! Our family of 4, ages 42, 41, 17, and 14 can't stop talking about it hours later. So as I sit on this amazing beach on the same afternoon of our time with you, I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for starting our vacation better than we could have ever imagined. Would I recommend doing this? Yeah!!! Can't imagine having come to Maui and not!! This is a MUST DO with no other company but this one.

Thanks again,

Greetings,

I am writing in regards to my recent tour with your group, from last week. I just wanted to let you know just how great of a time we had on that day. Your guides Aaron and Mike were absolutely fantastic. Both guys were so very friendly and pleasant considering how early it was in the morning. They were also extremely funny and a joy to be around. We learned so many interesting facts both on the way up the mountain, during the sunrise portion, as well as on the way down. Their experience showed, and I felt like we had the best guides out of any of the other groups.

Before the bike trip, my wife was initially very nervous. Aaron and Mike's instructions were both thorough, respectful and calming. My wife had an immediate sense of security with the two of them.

The actual trip down was a blast and we both felt completely safe. One of our bikes was a little off (the brakes were too tight, or something to that effect) and Aaron immediately assessed the situation before we even realized, and we had a new bike in seconds.

This was our favorite excursion on our trip to Maui, and I'd say Aaron and Mike were a big part of that. You are lucky to have the duo, who combine a sense of experience, comedy and the ability to relate with just about anyone. I will be recommending your group to any/all of my friends who take the trip off the mainland as well as your guides. I will also follow up shortly with a review on yelp.

Sincerely,

Bill + Jolie

Hi Petra,

I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I, along with my daughter, were in Maui last week for the first time. We had a 10 hour delay in our flight which got us to our hotel at about 11:00 p.m. Let me just say that 2:15 a.m. pick up by Travis was rough but SO worth it!

Since returning home this past Sunday, people have asked me what my favorite part of our trip was. Without a doubt for me it was the sunrise and bike tour. Travis and Sean were exceptional tour guides. They got us exactly where we needed to be for the best view of the sunrise which was unbelievably spectacular. Sean was very accommodating with taking photos of people in our group. Both he and Travis were knowledgeable of the area and the history regarding the island and gladly shared it with us. My daughter ended up opting out of the bike ride but had just as much fun riding in the van with Travis. At some point during our trip, she quoted something about the island. When I asked her how she knew it, she responded that Travis had told her while we were riding our bikes. While on the van, we discussed how my daughter can only smell mint. When we got to a portion of the bike trip that had the eucalyptus, Travis had us all pull over while he grabbed a little bit of eucalyptus, ran it to the van, so that my daughter could smell it. She brought the little piece back with her in her suitcase and wants to save it for her Maui souvenir.

The breakfast at the café was outstanding. I enjoyed how Travis and Sean worked together to get the orders called in so that the food was ready for us shortly upon our arrival.

All in all, it was a wonderful, wonderful experience.

Thank you for providing this service and Bike It Maui for having such knowledgeable guides!

Sincerely,

Robin Luttrell

I did not want to wait until we returned home to email you about our experience on the bike tour. I don't even know where to start.

The word perfect is so over used, but in this case it's the only word that describes our trip. Starting with you, very communicative and I knew what was going to happen as far as pickup time especially since it was so early.

Then Sean, a jewel, so warm and personal not just about the trip but about the island in general. Gave us several suggestions on where to go and what to do.

That brings us to "Manny", I felt like a kindergartner and he was my teacher, ( this being said in a very good way). He kept reminding us of being warm, following his directions, being careful, even using the restroom. Understanding afterwards how extremely important these instructions were.

Now to breakfast, spot on, the perfect ending to a perfect day. Getting to relax with Sean and the other riders was relaxing and fun. The food was just what we needed and the view was lovely.

I see all the details you see to. I'm also detail oriented and understand things don't "just happen". It takes planning and follow thru which make it look seamless.

I apologize for not being able to be more precise on describing our experience but it would not be fair to leave anything out. And to recognize your company for going out of its way to make our trip enjoyable.

So finally we would like to just thank you and your staff for a wonderful day.

Aloha,

Larry & Harriette Lococo

Thank you, Bike it Maui, for taking very good care of my wife Barbie and me.

Review -

I recommend that you do this trip on your first day in Maui. The trip is so much more than just the bike ride down the mountain. You will learn all about and see most of Maui from the top of the mountain.

Our tour guides, Ron and Manny, provided an enormous amount of information about Maui's history, culture, geography, climate, economics, and people. And they did so in a very helpful, entertaining manner. They have been doing this trip for so long, they could easily just go through the motions and get it done. But, that is not what they do. They were very attentive to the group members. They both made sure everyone in the group had everything they needed - warm clothes, fitting equipment, and taking pictures. They were also concerned about our safety providing safety instruction, and made sure that we all remained safe throughout the trip.

The early morning trip up the hill is just a warmup for the beautiful sunrise and the exciting ride down. The scenery is magnificent. It will be an unforgettable experience. Trust Bike it Maui to take care very good care of you.

They both answered all the questions they were asked by the group and also made the trip a lot of fun. Thank God they brought extra clothes and gloves. Had no idea it was going to be that cold up there. And Shaun and Ron did a great job when Shaun got his driver mirror ripped off by a passing carhope they caught that guy. Hello:

We did your sunrise/bike trip (Bernice Frandle had booked it for all of us).
I wanted to let you know that we had a great time. Shaun and Travis were our guides that day. They did an awesome job. Both are very personable and funny. Shaun was very knowledgeable about the volcano, the area and history.

I had heard from several people before our trip how dangerous this bike ride was so was a bit nervous, but both of the guys were reassuring and also very safety conscious.
Having the warmer clothing for the top of volcano was great (although we had come prepared, the extra layers were helpful). As well, that allowed Shaun to find us and give us more info while waiting for the sun to rise. We noticed that the other tour companies did not do this.

The breakfast at the end of the ride was very welcome, since we had to be up so early and were starving by then.

I talk to many people who go to Maui for vacations and will recommend your company to anyone who is interested.

Thank you for the wonderful experience (I hope Travis and Shaun get a pat on the back as they are the ones representing you).

Hello Bike it Maui:
I just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know that my wife and I had an incredible time with Bike It Maui. The guides Aaron and Mike were some of the most friendly and knowledgable professionals we've encountered in our two weeks traveling the island of Hawaii. Not only were they amiable and funny but very intelligent as well. Among the topics covered on our tour were Hawaiian history, folklore, geology, US military defense installations, astronomy, NASA facts, native flora and fauna to name a few.

Not realizing the cold climate atop Haleakala we didn't bring enough warm clothes and Mike offered his own hoodie to my freezing wife and was extremely patient with her as the group trekked down the mountain as she was a bit intimidated by at first.

I cannot imagine another biking company offering as much as yours and certainly can guarantee that your staff Mike and Aaron are the best in the industry. Thanks for an amazing sunset tour of an incredible National Park.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.
Sincerely,
Jeff & Christina M.

Hi Petra,

I just wanted to let you know what a great time the Arnell party of 5 had during our bike ride down Haleakala on Friday, June 28. The sunrise atop the volcano was beautiful, the conditions for the bike ride were perfect, and the 5 of us all had a wonderful time! But the main reason that I am taking the time to write you is to commend our driver, Aaron, and our bike leader, Mike.

It was very reassuring when Aaron took the time to call me to let me know that he'd be a little late when we were standing on a street corner at 2:40 in the morning, even though he was only 2 minutes late! Aaron was so friendly and easy to talk to and full of useful information the whole trip. (I was fortunate to be able to sit next to him both ways!) He not only told us about what to expect for our day on Haleakala, but he also demonstrated how pineapples are harvested and he personally composed a list of highlights of The Road to Hana which he gave to each of us after breakfast!

Mike was also very friendly and informative, but in a more outgoing way. I had been worried that we would be forced to bike at a certain speed or strongly encouraged to ride in the van if we weren't superstar bikers, but there was never any pressure at all and that's why I think our whole group performed so flawlessly--no pressure from either Mike or Aaron. Actually, we felt that their opposing personalities, Aaron the low-key guy and Mike more "out there", played off each other very well.

In summary, the day was wonderful and unforgettable, and Aaron and Mike had a great deal to do with our positive experience. You are to be commended for employing these 2 gentlemen for your tour, Petra.

Sincerely,
Richard Arnell

From the moment we were picked up (at 2:30 in the morning no less) we could tell they were both there to make sure our van full of 13 tourists had an incredible experience. They were engaging, explained so many things about the island, the culture, and the experience we were about to have. They took photos, got us great spots at the top of the mountain, shared other secrets that made our experience a memorable one. You should be very proud of these employees, you'll get great reviews from us and the others on our trip and you'll get referrals because of them.

All our best,

Marc and Amy Badain

Hi all,

My wife and I just came back to Seattle from our Maui trip and the bike ride down the Haleakala volcano was the most memorable experience. BikeItMaui was phenomenal!

Manny and Travis were absolute professionals. The ride down was both fun and safe. The ride up the mountain was also enjoyable. I am definitely NOT a morning person, and the only way to make a 3am wake-up and 3 hour car ride enjoyable is if good people are around you. Manny and Travis had high energy, keep everyone entertained, and were also very informative. These two have a passion for their work and it shows.

After the breathtaking sunrise and pleasure cruise down the mountain, they took us to what seemed like a 4 or 5 star restaurant to eat breakfast. What a day! What more can you ask for?

Thanks again, and I recommend this trip to anyone visiting Maui.

Tom - Seattle

Hi Petra

Wow what a morning we had with Bike It Dave and I are so pleased that we chose your company to do the sunrise and the bike ride down Haleakala and we sure will recommend your company both to our friends and to our travel agent back here in New Zealand.

The whole experience was great and a highlight for our trip. Brad and Manny are both very good ambassadors for your company and Brad could not have been more helpful and was great company. Manny did an excellent job guiding us down Haleakala you have great employees.

Petra what did you think of the paper cutting that we gave Brad to give you Dave had seen this cutting all those years ago so you can see why we enjoyed it so much. It was on his bucket list!!!!

Many thanks again for your help and making everything so easy for us Petra.

Hello,

My wife and I visited Maui on our honeymoon. By chance our hotel set us up with Bike It Maui. Mike picked us up right on time at 3:30AM. After picking up Aaron we set off for the top of the volcano. I never thought a cold, rainy bus ride could be so entertaining. When we got to the top, Aaron took us on a hike to the best spot to see the sunrise. After the sun came up, we could see all the other tour guides well below us approximately 10 deep watching the sunrise over each other. My wife and I had an unobstructed view and a seat. The bike ride down was great and I have excellent pictures the guys took of us that we'll have for the rest of our life. The breakfast on the golf course to end it was great. We've already insisted our friends going next year use Bike It Maui for all these reason.

Best wishes and happy holidays,

Hi Petra,

Sadly I am back home after three wonderful weeks in Hawaii....
I had a fantastic time and would like to tell you how much I enjoyed my "Bike it Maui" experience. My group had Mike and Aaron and they looked after us extremely well.. they provided a well organised and safe morning and were lots of fun entertaining us on the very early morning ride to the top. We had a perfect day to view the sunrise (even Aaron was taking pictures) and it was quite a magic experience... something I will always remember. The 'special viewing spot' was an added bonus.... we had the perfect location! Everything was very well explained regarding the ride down and I was lucky to be a part of a very competent group, so there were no issues with the ride.
Thanks also for your advice on where to stay in Maui... I ended up at the Aston Maui Banyan Kihei and was very happy with the location and the accommodation.

Congratulations on a well orgaised team, I will recommend your Company to everyone heading to Maui.

Suzanne

Hi Petra,

My husband and I would like to extend our mahalo and thank you for such a wonderful experience with your sunrise bike tour of Haleakala. Waking up to be ready at 2:45 am for pick at the hotel wasn't all that bad and your calling to confirm our pick up time the day before was very helpful. Brad and Manny were great knowledgable guides and were ready to take care of of your needs like stopping for bathroom breaks, getting snacks, answering our questions about the island and the tour, taking to us the best place to view the sunrise amongst the many tourist, making sure we were warm, fitting us with the right equipment and most of all making sure that we were always safe. Prior to booking with your company, I did look into the different companies that also did these tours and I am so glad I made the right choice. I would not hesitate to recommend your company and in fact I've already given your name to some friends of ours that are planning their trips to Maui in the near foreseable future. Thank you too for including the full on breakfast instead of just a continental breakfast because at the end of the ride we were pretty hungry. All in all we had a great and a memorable experience because of your awesome service. By the way, my husband forgot and left his cap in the pocket of your jacket and you were able to have Brad make a pit stop back at our hotel to return it in time before we left the island.

Thank you again Petra and regards to Brad and Manny. Till we meet again...our fondest Aloha!!

Hi Petra,
I just wanted to take a second to thank you for an amazing adventure on our honeymoon. I looked at numerous "bike mountain companies" and I'm so glad that we get with BikeItMaui. From being greeted by Aaron and Mike in the morning to the amazing breakfast - all amazing. The guys were professional and courteous and answered all our questions while always making sure that we were comfortable and having a great time (while being safe : ). While we didn't get the most amazing sunset - the experience was still worth it. I always felt safe and yet still being able to experience the view of a lifetime. I will make sure I tell all my friends and family that if they come to Maui - they have to call BikeItMaui. Amazing!

I also wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip with Bike It Maui. From the drive up, with plenty of bathroom breaks and information about not only what we were going to see, but also how our day would be handled, to the amazing trip down the mountain. It was all very well paced with the right amount of stops and opportunities for information, photos, etc . Manny and Brad were very entertaining, knowledgeable and committed to safety, which was very reassuring with our whole family participating. The yummy breakfast at the end of the bike ride was definitely the way to go!

Our trip to the summit with Bike It Maui was one of the highlights of our vacation. From the moment we were picked up we felt like we were in excellent hands. Brad, our driver was safe and entertaining. He really made the trip! We enjoyed his humor and all of the information he shared regarding the history of the island. Our bike leader, Manny was great as well. Petra and her crew were professional and provided the best quality equipment (e.g., bikes, helmets, etc.), especially the protective clothing which was WARM and water repellant. I saw other tourists at the top of Haleakala freezing and wet while waiting for the sunrise. The capstone experience of our trip was the delicious breakfast that was waiting for us at the gorgeous country club at the end of the drive. I would highly recommend visiting Haleakala during your time on Maui, experiencing the sunrise is breathtaking, it should be a must on anyone's bucket list, and Bike It Maui provides the perfect support to enhance the magic of Haleakala.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the tour yesterday. Mother nature and the island gods conspired to create a wonderful sunrise and morning.

Ronald was a gifted tour guide and made the adventure interesting and enjoyable. He was able to answer our questions thoughtfully and provide excellent content historically and understood the physical environment we were exploring. He made us aware of the unique setting and left us with a sense of wonder. He was humorous and charming, making sure that we could have the best vantage points and staying engaged the whole time.

Aaron told me that it was his first day with your team. He is a keeper.
Aaron and Ronald worked splendidly together with little wasted time. They made the trip worth every penny, and then some.

We biked the mountain with you October 23, 2011. Mani and Aaron we're fantastic guides. The short hike to the top of the mountain was something we never would have discovered on our own (much less with flashlights and warm clothes!), but made getting up that early so worth it. The stars and shooting stars were a once in a lifetime view. I recommend yours as the only bike company worth booking, for the guides as well as the safety of having a van following the bikes down the mountain. It was great to stop for photo ops with someone who knew what to look for and to feel safe knowing the guys were watching out for traffic so we could concentrate on riding. Our guides also dished out great tips about restaurants, attractions and other "local's" advice while we were riding in the van. The breakfast was a great way to finish the trip, too. Thanks for making our Haleakala trip one to remember!!

I'd also like to thank Brad and Erin. Brad was our driver and he was great. He picked us up at the Westin Villas, so he had to put up with us for nearly 8 hours, but he was great the whole time and kept point out interesting things and giving us a real tour of the island.

Erin was a great guide as well, keeping things going and giving a tour as we went as well.

Kudos to you and your crew for a fantastic experience.

Hi Petra,
From beginning to end, our bike trip with Mike & Manny was amazing. The pick up at our hotel was punctual. It was dark and overcast at 3:a.m. on our trip up the winding road to the crater, but we felt safe at every turn.
This safety aspect is what is so unique and reassuring about BikeIt Maui.
We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and I truly had not been on a bike in 30 years. My husband rode in the van, I biked. My husband enjoyed the van ride and was made to feel comfortable doing that. The bike ride, all under the watchful eyes of Mike and Manny, was an exhilarating experience for a 73 year old!

All necessary precautions were taken - we know we had the best van, the best bikes, and the best guides - to make this one of our most memorable and fun experiences of our celebration in Maui. Thank you!

Aloha Aaron and Manny:

I've been telling everyone I know about my amazing experience with you. From the moment you picked me up at our condo September 13, you took care to make me feel comfortable. Your jackets and wind pants for the brief climb and longer stay on the mountain were in good condition and kept me snuggly warm when I hadn't brought the right clothes to Hawaii to take on this adventure. I appreciated your taking our group on up the mountain, away from the crowds, to witness the spectacular sunrise. But the thing that truly astounded me was the way you two handled the bike ride down. I was very impressed with the comfort and condition of the bikes we used. And just flat out impressed with the safety precautions you took. I road bike at home so I understood the hyper-vigilance on both your parts to keep everyone safe. You kept us all focused and moving right along, safely sharing the road at times with cars, when many had had little recent experience on bikes. As a result I got to see a lot of countryside relaxed and content.

Thank you so much, Aaron and Manny. You are the best.

Hi Petra,

Here is my review:

"Bike It Maui offered top-notch service from start to finish. The driver was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He commented on our surroundings as we took the van ride and recommended spots to visit in the different areas. When we reached the top of the mountain we had been provided with the most comfort possible: extra pants/jackets to face the chilly sunrise and also key stops in bathrooms and gas stations to eat something before hitting our 10am breakfast at the end of the tour. The sunrise was amazing, to say the least, and we promptly left the site to ride our bikes shortly after. Our bike guide, John, kept us safe all ride long by communicating with our driver, Brad. All levels of bike riders can most definately enjoy this peaceful stroll down the mountain. The wind and bikes take you through, allowing you to freely enjoy the views, feel the wind and appreciate the different environments as you approach the base of the mountain. John made key stops for pictures and let everyone get their perfect shot with their cameras and parties. It all ended with a well-needed breakfast we pre-ordered in the van to our preferences, and we enjoyed a prime view of the golf course while eating outside. All- round helpful guides attentive to tourist needs but not overly pushy, and a nice carefree environment alongside the other people on the tour. The group was small enough for personalized attention. Thank you so much! It was a great time and definately an unmissable experience while visiting Maui :)"

Thank you for allowing me to be featured on your website! I got recommended to your service by a friend, and will definately recommend to others who come to visit Maui in the future! :)

Bike it Maui was one of two companies that our hotel was working with for Haleakala bike tours. Our friends, who used Bike it Maui on the previous day, had a very good experience so we selected BiM too. Our guides, Mike and John, were great and I was really glad they were our team for the day. They were courteous, considerate and provided us with an experience rather than just a van ride up the mountain and a bike ride on the way down.

TIPS:
- Try to book a couple of days in advance to ensure a spot on the day of your choice
- Wear sneakers or hiking shoes, not flip-flops/slippers
- Bring an energy bar, camera, sunglasses, hat (with ear coverage), sunscreen, casual, comfortable pants and a long-sleeve T-shirt or hoodie -- it gets cold
on top of the mountain, but you will shed the layers on your decent and can leave your gear in the van
- Tip your guides if you've had a good time

First I wanted to thank you for a great trip on the Sunrise Bike Tour and commend you and your staff for the;

1. follow up (calling our hotel to advise of our seats and confirm pick-up times),
2. the planning (sunrise and front row standing space),
3. the preparedness (windbreaker pants, jackets, beanies, gloves, etc. that we never could have known to plan for),
4. the coordination (bike rider order, front rider w/radio, backup van w/radio),
5. the safety (radio calls to take bike shoulder when traffic needed to pass),
6. the breakfast (out on the golf course—a great wrap up),
7. the memories (photo opportunities along the way),
8. and the grace that the Mike & Mike team hosts handled the whole adventure.

Thank you for the amazing experience of seeing the sunrise on top of Haleaka and then the fun bike ride down the volcano. The sunrise was breath taking coming up over the clouds and Haleaka's crater. They had a vast amount of knowledge and shared it with us. Ending the bike ride at Charley's for a huge breakfast was a great way to end the morning. It was a great way to start our vacation in Maui as it put a smile on our faces which lasted throughout our entire stay.

Thanks for everything!

Hi, Petra,

I wanted to send you a quick follow up... a week after Jen and I did the bike ride. We had a wonderful time, and I can't say enough about Billy & Billy - they were terrific hosts and guides, and we really enjoyed them. Jen, whom you may recall was very nervous about the trip, really enjoyed it and said "I'd do it again tomorrow if I could - only FASTER!" :)

Thanks again for a great ride,

Hi Petra,

Allison and I did the Haleakala Bike Tour on August 16th. I've been meaning to e-mail you about this, but I got caught up with other things. In any case, I just wanted to let you know that we had a FABULOUS TIME! Billy and Mike did a great job--you could tell that they knew what they were doing. They got us up to the top of Haleakala at the right time, gave us good pointers on biking and viewing the sunset, and provided great conversation during the long time that we had in the van. All in all, a great time.

Breakfast at Charley's was great as well. In any case, I just wanted to share our positive experience and to let you know what a great job the guys did--please share this feedback with Billy and Mike. They were DA BOMB :) We hope to visit Maui again in the future.

Kind regards,
Abe

Aloha,

First off let me tell you that we took the bike tour in July of 2009. A friend of ours is going to Maui in a few months and asked us what we would suggest they do in the short time they will be there. I told them that a trip to Maui would not be complete without doing the bike tour and that my personal highlight of our trip was sitting at the top of the world and watching the sun come up and then biking down the mountain. No one can sit up there and say God does not exist. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to see and do those two things I would never have the opportunity to do on my own. Our guide, Bill, was just great to be with. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and took care of our group from beginning to end. I know that sometimes a job can become tiring when you do it day after day, especially with personal life problems in general. Billy never showed that at all and it was obvious that he enjoyed what he was doing and that made it even more enjoyable for us. THANK you again. When I was on your website to get information for our friends, I saw out group picture and it brought all the memories back again. My question to you is this, is our group picture available to get or download on our own. As I said, our group was July 2009 and the picture number is DSC00556.jpg . Please let me know what my options are.

Mahalo,

Aloha Bike It Maui,

I just wanted to write and tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed our tour with Kevin and Billy. We recently traveled to Maui and the Big Island on our honeymoon. On Saturday, October 3rd, we took a tour with your company. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Kevin and Billy were awesome.... a great deal of fun and ready to tell us about everything we could possibly want to know about regarding Maui. I was really impressed with how well they knew the region and all it had to offer...both currently and throughout different periods historically. They were both eager to tell us fun little facts. The bike ride itself was a amazing and unlike anything we had ever done. I felt completely safe and at ease with Billy as our leader. They both had great positive energy and a true passion about their work. And even though the weather didn't cooperate and the sunshine didn't show up until we were heading down the mountain, I would say we were completely satisfied with our experience. The only disappointment was that we didn't meet Kevin and Billy until the end of our trip....we would have learned so much more about things we had already done on the island. One of my favorite parts of the day, (in addition to the DELICIOUS breakfasts at Charley's) was the ride back to Ka'anapali with Kevin. He was our own personal tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the landscape and vegetation, history of the area and way of life of the Hawaiian people. They were both courteous and gracious guides and they certainly enhanced our experience tremendously. From start to finish, they were professional, really passionate about what they do and a great pleasure to have met. I would happily recommend Bike It Maui to anyone considering the Haleakala bike ride and if we are ever lucky enough to return to your beautiful island, we're sure to take another ride!! Thanks again for a great experience and a lifetime of memories! Mahalo!!

It's hard to believe that it's been a full month since we were there on your lovely island. How time flies! Anyway, I wanted to pass along a review for you guys. This was a trip that I will remember forever. It was so much fun that we did it twice! By far, what made this particular tour so special was your company and the people doing the tour.

Kevin, tall Billy-Billy (yes, I call him Billy-Billy), and Billy #2 were stellar. They possessed the right mix of humor and seriousness to make the trip both fun and safe. It didn't hurt that they were excellent exhibits of eye candy. :-) The outdoor scenery was also simply breathtaking. If I could somehow paste in a 'scent' file to describe the aromas that were present coming down the highway from the crater, you would smell lavender, ginger, eucalyptus, fresh grass, and the saltiness from the ocean. The breeze in my face and the stunning scenery whizzing by was something I can still imagine today just by closing my eyes. For anyone reading this - DO THE TOUR WITH BIKE IT MAUI. You won't be disappointed.

I'll continue to praise your company so that it drives as much business as possible your way.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you all next time!

Everyone has talked about the amazing sunrise and it truly was but I have to comment on the beautiful display of stars we had the luck to see on the way up the mountain.

I was a little nervous at the start but soon got into the groove :-) The views were killer and the scenery and smells of the upcountry was an unexpected pleasure.

Breakfast was hearty and boy were we ready for it.

We just returned to California, but wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much fun we had! I was a little nervous about the steepness of the ride and if me and my son could handle it – but we did not chicken out – and ended up having the time of our lives. Kevin and Billy couldn’t have been any better – wanting to make the trip fun – but always stressing the importance of safety. We were even blessed with the most beautiful sunrise!

Thank you for an amazing memory – we’ll be calling you again the next time we’re in town.

Hi Petra,

I'll just write some sentence.
You can line out words or correct me also :-)

My name is Lisa, I'm 22y.o. and actually from Germany, but living in Boston.
I did Island hopping in Hawai'i and one of my stops was Maui.
I got the flyer from bikeitmaui and decided to do this awesome and unforgetable tour.
Luckily I got a place, because I booked kinda late.
We're a good group with 12 people, so we started to get know each other.
Billy picked me up at 3am - yeah...it was early...but I tell you, it's worth it!
So we went to Pa'ia, picked up the other Billy and the trailer and then arrived on the top of Mt.Haleakala....'til then everybody got to know each other ;-) It was amazing and incredible to see the sunrise and the clouds were below.
After the sunrise we started to bike the mountain down.
It was a wonderful tour and an unforgetable experience. Everybody should do it.
And we also had a huge + yammi breakfast at Charlies kitchen in Pa'ia !!!
Awesome!

Thanks Billy & Billy and of course Petra! I loved doing the tour and we're a good team!

Hope seeing you one day again!

Review of Bike it Maui
My husband and I took the tour on Mon., Aug. 3, 2009. It was truly the highlight of our holiday in Maui. If you are wondering what to do first on your trip to Maui, take this tour; I promise that you will never regret it.
Kevin and Billy were our guides for the day. They were well-organized, friendly, and enthusiastic. They eagerly shared their knowledge about Mount Haleakala, the crater, plantlife such as the Silver Swords, and the nearby geographic area. It was apparent that they enjoyed their work, and that meant alot to us.
Once at the top of Mount Haleakala, you quickly view the most amazing sight. the sunrise. I had anticipated an incredible sunrise, but I was still mesmorized by all of the beauty before me. Words could never recapture the feeling up there.
The bikeride down the mountain was the next part of the trip. I admit that I was a little nervous about the turns, so if you are at all apprehensive and questioning this tour because of the bikeride, don't. It is really quite an easy ride. And what fun!! Great views and the best part is that you are coasting, not pedalling!!
The tour ends at Charleys where you are greeted with a very large yummy breakfast. It also gave us a chance to talk to the others in our group about the tour thus far. It was nice meeting people from all over.
So if you are looking for an exhiliarating experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, book this tour!

Aloha, Petra!

Kathy and I cannot thank you, your husband, Kevin and Billy enough for the truly, memorable experience we enjoyed last week - biking down Haleakala! We always felt safe with Kevin and Billy's professionalism and obvious knowledge of biking down the "hill." Kathy, who was a little nervous at first, had an absolute blast! That says a lot about the way Kevin and Billy put us all at ease with their easy-going and humorous ways!

As if biking down the hill wasn't enough, we all experienced the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala and then topped off the whole adventure with breakfast at Charley's with food that was fantastically delicious! What more could anyone ask for?

This has easily become one of the best and unique adventures we've ever had here on the islands and we will never forget it or the fine folks who helped make it happen for us!

Dear Petra,

We weren't sure if we would be able to make it on your tour, having spent over 6 hours in standstill traffic the previous evening due to a terrible brush fire which closed all the major roads on the island.
Your calm and reassuring voice on the phone that night made our frazzled nerves relax. Were we ever ecstatic when we were able to experience seeing the magnificent sunrise on Mount Haleakala on June 22, 2009! Our guides, Craig and Billy, were so knowledgeable and entertaining while informing our group of the history of the mountain and surrounding areas and what we were to expect when we reached the lookout to see the awesome sunrise. Craig and Billy wanted us to get the most of our enjoyment of the tour, however they were very explicit of the safety issues regarding our bike ride down the mountain. Our gear was topnotch, and the warm parkas and gloves that you provided were very welcomed on that cold summer morning. Craig and Billy repeated the safety aspect of the tour several times before and during our tour, which was greatly appreciated. We knew that they wanted us to have the experience of a lifetime, but not at the expense of injury. The ride down the mountain was exhilarating and the breakfast at Charley's was delicious. No one could possibly leave there hungry. On our ride in the van the rest of the way, Billy and Craig entertained us with some local history of the agriculture of the surrounding farms, now that we could see them in the daylight! Their professionalism and humor was greatly enjoyed. I would absolutely recommend Bike It Maui to everyone.

Good Morning!

We would like to commend you and your team for an amazing Haleakala bik tour! Kevin and Billy were prompt, energetic and entertaining! Despite the clouded sunrise, our trip down the mountain was a blast! They had a genuine concern for our safety and well-being; we made a couple stops for people that were struggling with speed and to capture our scenic moments on film; one woman lost her contact and Billy didn't second guess getting her help and used the adequate resources to do so. They had a keen sense of situational awareness and had an efficient logistical process in order to maintain the flow of traffic and ultimately displayed strong teamwork to get us down the mountain while having the best time. Just when we thought, we'd had enough fun for one day, we were introduced to the macademia nut pancakes at Charley's; I've been trying to eat my leftovers small bits at a time because I don't want to run out before we head back to Arizona! Thank you all for an exciting experience and don't change anything you do!

Sincerely,

Aloha, Petra:

I am a pretty picky person while I select a merchandise from web sites. After hours search, I chose your company because of good information and the reasonable price. Although the sun didn't show its morning glory and drizzle made us wet at Sept. 13, 2007, I am very happy to let you know we did use a right company to experience our fantastic and thrilling bike ride from the top of Mount Haleakala. In very deed, my group sincerely thank Billy and Kevin for their good safety instructions and cautious lead. Billy's environmental knowledge and local language made the trip more interesting and Kevin's van protection behind us was very well done. Breakfast after ride (included in the package) was gigantic and delicious. Besides, we gained extra one hour sleep time in comparing with the arrangement made by other company. In future, I am willing to recommend my friends to use the BikeItMaui company for their downhill bike tour at Maui.

Thank you for your services.

We recently Honeymooned in Maui and wanted to say THANK YOU for such a wonderful experience! Our bike down Haleakala was by far our favorite activity we did while on the island, and Kim and Billy were fantastic! They were terrific hosts, made sure we were all safe and comfortable, and were so much fun! You are very lucky to have such wonderful people to serve as representatives of Bike It Maui! This is one activity we would do every time we come to Maui!!
Thank you for the wonderful memory!

Aloha Bike It Maui,

We just wanted to say that we had a great time on our bike ride! We were on the August 14th ride. Haleakala was awesome and the views were incredible. Kim and Dave were our guides and they made the trip great. They both made us feel safe and allowed us to have fun on our ride.  I was lucky enough to be the first in line behind Dave and really got my very own personal tour and learned a lot of Maui fun facts! We couldn't stop talking about the ride when we got home. We recommended you guys to our friends and they have already booked their bike trip for their upcoming honeymoon. This bike trip was one of the highlights of our vacation!! We just found out we brought back a lifelong souvenir from Maui, nope don't worry not the lava rock, but we are going to have our first baby. We are still deciding between naming it Aloha or Haleakala or even Dave =)

Thanks again for a great time!

Hi,

I went on your September 10th tour and absolutely loved it. I have been telling everyone about it. One thing that I was hoping for is that you would get yourselves printed in Maui Revealed. I know a lot of people that have used that book. It seems quite popular. That way everyone would know to try your company.

The tour was awesome thanks to Kim and Juan!!

I did indeed get the messages, thanks.  I am back home now.  I had the BEST time! I thought seriously about trying to squeeze in another ride before I left.  It was THAT awesome.  Dave and Kim were so funny and helpful.  The pancakes were HUGE and delicious.  I bragged about all of it the rest of the time.  I saw lots of tour groups up there and we were having the most fun, had some of the nicer bikes, and had warmer jackets and gloves than others too.  I cant say enough about the experience.

Aloha,

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our bike ride - what a blast! This was a highlight of our 20th anniversary trip. Dave and Shawn we both very professional and safety-conscious, yet provided a fun, educational and safe trip down the mountain. It was worth the 3:30 a.m. pickup to see that sunrise. The outerwear provided was warm and comfortable, they custom fitted each bike to the riders and everyone was made to feel safe and comfortable. Dave's sense of humor kept us all on our toes so early in the morning (ask him about the myna birds) and his knowledge of the island made the whole trip more enjoyable. I'm sending you a picture of our esteemed guides - what great guys!

Thank you SO MUCH and we'll definitely recommend you to anyone we know who is visiting Maui from California.

Aloha, Petra!!!

What a wonderful, wonderful time we had! While we were in Maui we crammed alot into our seven day trip and when anyone asks us what our favorite thing was, without hesitation, Richie and I both say the bike ride down Haleakala. Even though it was 3:00 AM, the long ride up Haleakala wasn't bad with Dave's commentary and history of the island...even though some of his jokes were pretty corny!! And one never to take anyone's word for anything, I ordered the pancakes for breakfast - that could have been breakfast for the rest of our trip!

I want to thank you and everyone involved in making this tour as wonderful as it was - it is something we will never forget. I'll miss our little discussions and look forward to seeing our pictures posted.

Aloha friends,

Thank you so much for making our sunrise Easter such a memorable time. Robb and Dave made the trip awesomely enjoyable. They went out of their way to show us sights that no other company would have done. They knew some of us were "deathly afraid" of heights and reassured us that it was a safe trip. You have been recommended to many of our friends as the only way to go. Many of the bigger companies did not seem to make their people feel as safe and comfortable. Thank you for making safety #1 with you. We agree with our friend Travis, from Indiana, that you put the safety and enjoyment of your guests first and made us all fee like family by the end of the journey. We look forward to the pictures and thank you again for the great trip.

Petra,

Just a quick thank you for the tour my wife and I took on Easter! Today was my first day back at the station so I wanted to e-mail you and thank you so much for the terrific time!

Robb and Dave were terrific guides and we had a ball! Everyone in our group really "bonded" and it made for a very enjoyable trip down the hill. The sunrise was SPECTACULAR and the ride down was equally as exciting.

Let me commend you on the safety aspect of the trip. The guides were terrific in keeping safety out #1 priority. As we were gearing up at the top it was obvious that we were being taken care of more so than several of the other groups that took off down the hill. Safety talks were given during the ride up, and at the summitt as well. While the guys preached safety, they made the lecture enjoyable...rather than something that most people would tune out. Kudos to Dave, Robb and everyone at Bike It Maui.

Thanks again!

Petra was always professional and Robb and Juan were entertaining and informative. The sunrise was spectacular and we had the great fortune to hear the park guard do her very moving Hawaiian chant. The ride down was beautiful and exhilarating and we always felt safe. Breakfast at Charley's was a treat - and we even had a young man in our group who was able to finish his pancakes! Sorry we missed Willie, but it was a blast anyway. Imagine our delight when we got home and found a new travel magazine with a story about Maui - and it mentioned Pa'ia and Charleys! Can't wait until our pictures are on the wbsite. We are recommending your trip to anyone who is heading to Maui. We hope to return one day and do it all over again!

Petra,

Hey, we just wanted to mention that we had a great time on our Bike trip. It was rainy at the top of Haleakala but we were able to bus down to 7500 and bike it in the clear weather. It was definately an experience we will remember.
Please tell the guys "Thank you" again. They definately educated us on the island. We even went back to Paia the last day of our trip and walked around and ate at Charley's again.
It feels as though Maui was months ago. We keep fighting snow flurries and rain. I love Wisconsin where I grew up but I rather be in Maui through the winter months.

I was wondering if you heard from the girls (sisters) and the other couple. I'm so name iliterate it's not funny. The sister were going to Oahu and the weather over there was rainy we heard. The honeymoon couple was going to Kaui and it didn't sound to good over there either. I just all went well for their vacations. We had a great group of people.

Hallo Petra,

Dear Petra,

We are just getting around to putting our photos together. We've been away a lot the past few months. Just visited your website to print and save our group photo. It brought back fond memories. We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the tour. It was our first trip to Maui, hopefully won't be our last. This was our favourite day trip. It was so exhilirating and the scenery was spectacular.

Rob and Wuan were very professional and did a great job. They also had 2 trainees-Spencer and the guy from Minnesota who knew where Quetico Park was-very helpful as well. The breakfast at Charlie's hit the spot after the exciting ride. Everything was looked after, we appreciated all the little details.

Thanks again. We highly recommend this tour with Bike It Maui. We considered other companies, but heard good things about you guys. It was definitely worth it!

This was our first trip to Maui (we arrived Thurs. at 1am) & the bike trip was our 1st 'touristy' event . . . one that we will repeat if (my husband says 'when') we return to Maui. Rob & Spencer were great as driver & rider; enjoyed the tidbits of island history & current events and brunch at Charley's to wind up the ride. Also appreciated the safety concerns (i.e. if they put us in the van, we stayed in the van).

I was somewhat apprehensive (I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to downhills & hadn't done alot of biking recently) & talked myself around a couple of the hairpin curves but overall enjoyed the experience. We have been talking it up with people we've met since then.

Dear Petra,

Bernard and I would both like to thank you, Wuan and Rob for our Guided Sunrise Bike Tour to the top of Mt. Haleakala. It was by far the highlight of our entire three week trip to Hawaii to three islands. We found Rob and Wuan to be professional, experienced and very informative. They also made the drive up the mountain and the bike ride down lots of fun. They obliviously enjoy their work. There is nothing in the world like being at the top of Haleakala at sunrise. The sun was spectacular! It looked like a diamond as it rose above the clouds far below. Nothing could prepare us for the incredible orange and red colour of inside the crater as the sun hit it. And then the ride down, words can hardly explain braking as we went into the curves and then riding the curve as we looked far (almost 11,000 feet to the valley below! I have never seen views like I saw that day. It was exhilarating and the view was outstanding. We felt safe under the guidance of Wuan and Rob who always kept our safety in mind. It was so nice when we stopped having Wuan suggest that I stand on the front of Bernard’s bike and balanced on his shoulders! Wuan took a picture of us posed like that! There was nothing like the aromatic smell of the eucalyptus trees as we descended to 7000 ft. We really enjoyed the stop at the proteus flower farm. The flowers were gorgeous!

And the brunch at Charley’s in Paia was delicious. You could just picture the hippies of the 60s visiting there. No wonder it was and is Willie Nelson’s favourite hangout. And the macadamia nut pancakes were delicious! Rob dared us to eat all of them and no one even got through half.

If anyone our age (50s) thinks that the ride is just for the younger ones, you are very wrong!! As it was all downhill, we The bikes are sturdy, comfortable in fact the widest, most comfortable seats we have ever ridden on.

Thanks so much Petra for mailing my coat to me on the Big Island. That was so kind. I didn’t expect that you would cover the cost of sending it too. That was way beyond the call of duty. It came in handy when we got home as it was about 20 degrees F back in Ottawa, Canada!

We fell in love with Maui. It was our favourite island. When we talk about it, we don’t say “if” we return, we say “when”. Next time, we would like to go on a tour of the crater too.

Again thanks so much for the lasting memories of the Guided Sunrise bike tour. We will make sure to tell all our friends travelling to Hawaii that the bike ride is a must.

Fondly,

Thanks for a great start to our Maui vacation. What an experience! I had not been on a bike in almost 20 years so I was more than a little nervous. Having gotten up at 2am the first day (night?) I was also questioning my sanity... but-WOW. No words can describe. A beautiful full moon was going down on one side while the sun was climbing over the clouds on the other. The big dipper was hanging so close it looked like it was about to ladle water out of the dark and dreaming pacific.
As the sun peaked over the clouds it lit them on fire. It was like watching the sun come up on the moon. The ride down (once I relaxed the death grip on my brakes) was incredible. Riding through the mist, seeing a rainbow, smelling the eucalyptuys trees...thanks for making us such wonderful memories!

We'll recommend you to everyone we know.

Aloha, Well, we're finally back home in NYC and we're missing Maui already! I just wanted to write letting you know that my husband and I both had a fantastic time with Bike It Maui. What an awesome experience it was watching the sunrise over Mt. Haleakala despite how cold it was up there!! Lucas, our driver, was so cool and Dave, our bike leader, was awesome. I was a little nervous at first so Dave kept me right behind him all the way down. Dave is a great leader. His knowledge and years of experience kept us safe and made it fun. We met some wonderful couples and in fact, one was from NYC also. The breakfast at Charley's was a welcome addition considering we were up well before the birds and it was delicious. Lucas gave us a little tour of the pineapple plantation and showed us Willy Nelson's home in Paia before heading back. Overall, it was one of the best activities we did in Maui and I'm sure I can speak for all of us as a group that Bike It Maui is the way to go! Dear Petra,
My family and I booked through Bike It Maui June 21st and Koko and Dave were our tour directors. I must say Petra that Bike It Maui was the highlight of our vacation and that Koko and Dave are the reasons for this. Koko and Dave made the entire experience very enjoyable for my family and even Koko's singing (although he is no Frank Sinatra) was very entertaining and made all of us lauyh. We have already recommended several of our friends to make sure they make reservations at Bike It Maui and with no other Biking company when they visit Maui, which they'll be doing within the next several months. Please tell Koko and Dave that our gang sends them both our best and thank them for making our vacation and our experience with Bike It Maui so enjoyable and fun. Enclosed you'll find some pictures that were taken from on top of the Volcano in which Koko was so kind enough to take for us and also our family picture taken last Christmas in which Koko will get a big kick out of. I've also enclosed 3 calculators and day planners from my company, so if you wouldn't mind, please give one of each to Koko and Dave and keep a calcutator and day planner for yourself.

Thanks again Petra and thank you and Bike it Maui for a great time.

Dear Petra,

We just got back from our vacation to Maui tonight, and wanted to e-mail you and tell you that we had a fantastic time on our bike ride down Haleakala with Koko and Lucas. We observed other bike companies with huge groups and leaders screaming at their groups - but Koko and Lucas treated us like VIP's! They were very kind and very professional. At one point in the ride there is a sharp turn, and Lucas stopped our group ahead of the turn and warned us to proceed slowly. While he was talking to our group, another large group raced by, and one of the riders almost went off the side of the mountain because the group was going too fast. In places where it was safe, Lucas and Koko let us ride faster, but always kept us informed about what type of road conditions would be coming up. They were great!!

They called in our breakfast order to Charlie's ahead of time, and the food was just being placed on the table as we arrived. They showed us pineapple fields, sugar cane fields, beautiful flowers, an old church, and also made a couple of stops for pictures. It was a great time, and we wanted you to know what professional, kind, and FUN employees you have in Lucas and Koko. They made the ride down Haleakala great for our entire family!

Thanks again!

I wanted to tell you and everyone else what an awesome time my wife and I had on your bike tour. Not knowing which bike company to choose, I almost booked a company that lets you go at your own pace and doesn’t take you all the way to the top of the mountain. That would have been a HUGE mistake on my part! Fortunately we booked Bike It Maui and had a wonderful time. Our driver, Koko, was the best!!! He did a fabulous job keeping us awake and entertained on the way up the mountain which is a huge plus when it’s that early in the morning. Koko also got us up so that we were 3rd in line to go down the mountain….you definitely don’t want to have to wait on a bunch of groups in front of you when it’s time to ride. One of the other leaders also took us up to a more secluded area to watch the sun rise. While everyone else was packed in like a bunch of cows trying to watch the sun, we had an almost private view. Little tips like those definitely put you ahead of the competition. We really enjoyed the breakfast after the bike ride with the coconut syrup. For all of those who are trying to decide which company to choose for the bike ride, book Bike It Maui and you’ll definitely have a good time. Koko, thanks again for going back to get my camera that fell out of my pocket….you rock!

Aloha from my beautiful island to your beautiful island………………………………..

Let me begin by saying that the people working at Bike It Maui make you the premier company you are. Also, your focus on safety sets you apart from other biking companies. Lead by Dave and sheltered in the rear from descending cars by KoKo we felt safe and protected because of their commitment to safeguarding their valuable assets, The Blueberries. For those of us who became apprehensive during the accent to Haleakala Crater, KoKo and Dave’s sensitivity, patience and reassurance put our uneasiness to rest. Only KoKo and Dave could turn a bike excursion into a bike exploration. I can’t thank them enough for the exciting journey and the opportunity to view your spectacular sunrise and picturesque Maui from 10,000 feet. These memories will last a lifetime.

I was pretty worried about how I would manage, not having biked much for years and just a little afraid of heights, but the trip was great. Once we made it through a couple of turns - it was no problem. Ralph and Lucas were great too - very smart and reassuring, a great pair to spend the day with. The whole trip was just incredible - seeing the volcano and being above the clouds (we rode through clouds!) was almost unreal. I have recommended Bike It Maui to several people that will be in Maui soon. Thanks again for a great day.

Hi Petra, Ralph, and Lucas.

Greetings from cold and rainy Canada. We're staying warm by remembering what a great time we had biking down the volcano. Led by free-spirited Lucas, and followed closely by the ever vigilant Ralph, we had an incredible day and made memories that will last a lifetime. Our trip biking down Haleakala was the highlight of our trip to your beautiful island. Hard to describe the thrill of actually biking THROUGH a cloud. The views as we descended from 10,000 feet were breathtaking. Lunch at Charley's, in the lovely little town of Paia, was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Ralph is truly an ambassador of aloha. While making our way to the crater, he pointed out sights, and spun stories about places along the way. Lucas - what can you say about Lucas - a great spirit - fun, sweet, and another wonderful testament to the spirit of aloha.

Our only regret about taking the tour will be that we may never find anything to top it!

Mahalo and aloha.

Just wanted you to know that my husband and I enjoyed our trip down Haleakala with Dave and Ralph!! We loved watching the sun come up that morning, it was breathtaking!!
Seeing the stars from up there was also amazing!! They felt so much closer.
I was a little anxious about getting on a bicycle after so many years, but once I got comfortable, it was the best bicycle ride of my life!!!
I will highly reccommend this to everyone I know!!
Thank you for the awesome experience!! You guys are great at what you do!!

I was dubious about the ride. I thought because I’m not a sporty type person that I would not be able to do it or perhaps that I would hold others up on the ride. Putting my doubts aside I throw caution to the wind and ‘biked it’. Koko and Lucas were professional and vigilant, making sure we had a safe and enjoyable experience. Koko was a scream! Ride or no ride, meeting Koko (a man that certainly loves his heritage) and Lucas (a young females heart throb!) was rewarding in itself. Thanks guys. Our group could tell that we had the best guides out of all of the operators there. Undoubtedly, ‘bike it’ was the highlight of my Hawaiian holiday.

Subject: Thank YOU

Just returned from our Hawaiian vacation and had to tell you that our Bike Tour was the highlight of the vacation. Our guide Koko was the best part. I got a little motion sickness on the way up and he took such good care of me and then he kept the group entertained the rest of the day. We made many memories that will last forever and I don't think I'll ever forget Koko and Lucas. They did a great job and I'd definately recommend this to my friends. We heard other people say their guide was the best but we know that we had THE BEST CREW in Maui! Keep up the good work and if we get back to Hawaii, we'll give you a call!

Coco and Dave,

Thank you very much for a great time riding down the Haleakala Crater! We all had a lot of fun and it tops our list of the fun things we did in Maui. Big Al hasn’t stopped talking about it. J Not only were the views amazing, you two made this trip very memorable with your high energy and narration. I will never forget it! Attached is one of our pictures…

Thanks again!

Petra,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks and to let you know how great our trip was. From the beginning with Coco and Dave's entertaining and informative commentary all the way to the end with breakfast at Charley's it was a once in a lifetime kind of experience (which we hope to do again).

My wife had some apprehension on the ride up as she had not been on a bike in years but Coco and Dave helped her feel right at home once she got on the bike. Those guys did a great job!!!! The trip was great and I have already passed along the link to your website to a friend of mine who is making the trip to Maui later this month.

Thanks again,

I can't say enough about the great trip you guys put on. Koko and Lucas are the best. They were completely devoted to giving us the best trip possible up and down the mountain. The breakfast that followed was also terrific. We can't thank you enough for one of the best parts of our Hawaii trip. We have told everyone about our trip and recommended you guys to everyone, including our travel agent. We plan to return to Maui in the future and will definetely book another trip with your company.

My husband, daughter and I took the bike ride earlier this month. What a trip! We all had a wonderful time do mostly in part to Coco and Lucas. They were very helpful, cheerful and supportive of a few jittery nerves. The view was fantantic and definitely a site to behold. Finishing off at Charlie's was the topping on the cake! Thank you, Coco and Lucas for making the last day of our vacation one we will definitely remember for a long time to come..........

My wife & I were in Maui for our 10yr Anniversary. This trip was an experience we will never forget!! The views from the top of Haleakala were breathtaking! The sky before dawn was incredible, it was better than any planetarium! The sunrise was amazing to see over the crater, walking up to the very top was worth it, a truly rememberable sight! As far as your staff, KoKo & Dave were fantastic! They made sure that the novice riders and the experienced bikers had a fun safe ride! My wife was nervous about riding such a long way, but afterward she was not the least bit tired, and very pleased we did it! Attached is are pictures you are welcome to use on you website. Please
make sure Koko & Dave get this note, it was their knowledge and understanding of the mountain that made this trip very enjoyable for both myself and my wife! (See attached file: Hawaii 10yr 119.jpg)(See attached file: Hawaii 10yr 122.jpg)

Just had to let you know my husband and I did the ride on our 2nd day in Maui. Koko and Dave were awesome. They are hilarious people so early in the morning. We had a fantastic ride down with a great group of people. Looking at the other groups I am very glad we booked our trip with you as we felt very safe, even after hearing about some of the accidents that happen with other groups when they go down. The scenery was great and the food at the bottom was a nice reward. You guys should sell shirts with your logo about biking down 38 miles.

Thanks again,

My wife and I were in Maui last week for our honeymoon and decided to try the Sunrise bike ride down Haleakala. We were told by friends that we had to do it, but no one told us which company to go with. Well I can say that we are extremely happy that we chose Bike It Maui, from the time we were picked up at our hotel we were made to feel right at home. Our driver was Koko and he kept us laughing the entire trip, and our guide was David. For me it wasn't just about the bike ride down the volcano...we could have done that with any company. It was the entire experience of getting picked up at our hotel so we didn't have to drive up there ourselves, it was waiting for the sun to rise and Koko adding commentary to our vacation video, it was Dave's professionalism during the ride, it was breakfast at Charley's at the end, and it was meeting a bunch of great people in our group. We did this on our last day in Maui and I don't think there would have been a better way to end our honeymoon than the way we did. Thank you to Koko and Dave, and thank you to your company for making our trip a memorable one.

My husband and I and our son and daughter in-law took the bike trip down the volcano on August 14th of this year. We wanted to send a personal thanks to Coco and Lucas for making this such a memorable trip. They were both friendly, funny and helpful in fullfilling all our needs. Our trip would not have been so much fun without them as our guides. FYI, our picture is on your web site for August.we're picture # DSC00125. Thank you again for everything and see that they get the recognition that they deserve for being such wonderful hosts.
